Savannah had been about to intervene when Tempest suddenly did something that made it look like she was having a spasm. Her eyes widened as she watched her sister lay down at the lion's feet. As she continued to watch, her eyes got wider and she got annoyed. Wow. Savannah felt like crawling into a hole and hiding. She had been gaining a little respect for Tempest before that little episode. Her sister had jumped onto the head of a lion; not just any lion, the KING of the lions; just to save her. It had been a regular Hallmark moment and Savannah had been impressed that her sister had that kind of nerve. That was something that even she probably wouldn't have attempted. She would have just jumped infront of him, or on his back at best. But that little bit of awe disappeared when her sister started to basically plead for forgiveness.

That was something the kids did when they knew that Savannah was ticked off, it was not something a full grown leopard did under any circumstances. Savannah might have done something drastic to save her hide, but nothing that outragous. She had too much self respect. Finally, she just turned her head away, making it clear that she was disgusted with her sister. Not because she wasn't protecting her, but because she had just done that little display. She watched the lion walk away and as soon as he was out of sight, she quickly morphed back into her human form so she could see what the hell was going on. "What the HELL was THAT ?" she asked in outrage, folding her arms over her chest. She liked being alive as much as the next person, but there were limits to what she was willing to do to keep her pulse.

A faint guttural yowl erupted from the black leopardess as her rear end was assaulted, making her literally leap up and do an odd scramble back. Now that had hurt. She did a menacing snarl in retaliation, but all three knew she wasn’t going to do anything. Hell, she’d just humiliated herself, her sister, her ancestors...the very leopard name. Her very last name. her brother-- everyone that ever was or ever would be, a leopard. Now that didn’t sting quite as bad as her now marked backside, but hey-- Tempest was alive, and very happy to be so. When she moved to sit on her haunches, she give a soft hiss of pain and bounded forward, only to whirl around and give her youngest sister the most pitiful look ever. That’s when the woman shifted to her human form.

What in the hell were you doing talking to the Lion King?!” she shot back, her features pale. Jesus, she was shaking her adrenaline was pumping so high! The mixture of fear nearly had her shivering more. God, she’d never been this scared before, however she did look very demure, if not pathetic. She never had been a fighter. Being nude only mad her realize the scratches were on her backside as well, making her peer over her shoulder at the slight lacerations. Ow…. She moved to touch one and recoiled sharply, eyes gleaming in pain. Did it have to hurt so bad? But she was alive!

Her mane of flaming locks spilled back behind her as she glanced to the sky, then to Savannah. “I didn’t let my pride get in the way. And don’t you DARE tell a soul about any of this!” She could see it now: One more strike against the Akura family. As if they weren’t already dishonored in the eyes of many already, considering both sisters could be hotheaded and impolite. They certainly raised hell growing up. Only Dresden seemed to be the most respectable of the three, and that only irked Tempest. How could a guy be so nice? Sadly, that’s when she caught sight of the cub that had went missing, beady eyes wide from his cover behind lush foliage. “..Scratch that, they’re gonna know anyways.

Savannah glared at her sister, her dark eyes appearing even darker due to her anger. "I was doing the job YOU left me with. It wasn't my fault he decided to sprawl out here. How was I supposed to know ? It's not even his land ! And you have no right to talk, you were ASLEEP in a tree ABOVE HIM !" she said, voice rising as she got angrier. Oh no, Savannah was not going to forgive her for this any time soon. How was it that she managed to do that ? She got some guts and then she totally bailed at the last second. If Tempest was going to be bad ass then she at least needed to carry through with it. Savannah wouldn't have tried to fight him or anything, she just would have backed up, glaring at him all the while. At least she wouldn't have collapsed on the ground. Oh no, it wasn't in her to do that. When her sister spoke again, Savannah's glare grew.

"Why would I tell anyone about that ? I'm already embarrassed enough that the lion saw it," she said, a look of disgust flickering into her eyes. Good God, that had been awful. Her gaze suddenly turned to look where Tempest was looking and she saw the kid. "Where the hell were YOU ?" she asked, not wanting to yell at her sister anymore, but needing a vent. The child cowered briefly under her gaze before straightening up and meeting her eyes. "Hunting," he said proudly. Oh that was just great. He had more guts than her sister and he would tell everyone about her seizure right after he showed off the scrawny little thing he had managed to catch.

Oi! Don’t yell at your older sister!” The defensive sound was actually pathetic, all things considering. Her lips formed in a pouting expression as she glanced to her rear end once again, her flesh still ghostly pale from her fright. “I’m injured. Take pity, and dammit, I thought he was going to murder you! I mean, we’ve both grown up hearing the stories of the Devil Lion and his harem of hell cats. And the Sin spawn he creates. I used to get nightmares…” With a visible shudder, the woman decided to take the shape of her panther form once more, where she felt more…strong. Capable. Deadly. Less afraid.

Now also needing to vent for the humiliation and lowliness Tempest felt, she suddenly charged forward and tackled the young one down, her paw pressing firmly into his chest as she let loose a low, menacing growl. It was clear, what she meant. He uttered one word of what transpired, and she’d eat him for breakfast-- only to tell the mother the lion king ate ‘em, and she got wounded in the process. Savannah would back her up, only to make sure she didn’t have to deal with the humiliation of it all.

Wow, Tempest felt ashamed just then, as If she’d let her little sister down.

"Don't act like a house cat and you're little sister won't have to yell at you," Savannah shot back. The child was looking back and forth between the two women, watching with unbrindled curiousity. Normally, whenever Savannah got into an arguement like this, it lead to a brawl. Since it was a well known fact that the younger sister would give her best efforts to destroy anyone who hurt her older sister, at least anyone but the the Lion King, he was obviously wondering what was going to happen. Surely the sisters weren't going to fight.... were they ? Of course not, Savannah was just pissed off that Tempest had acted so spineless. It wasn't often that she was angry with her sister, but when she was it could last just as long as it would for anyone else, and that was a long time.

She snorted at her sister's excuses. "Injured ? He barely touched you. If you hadn't jumped onto his head you would be fine. I was getting away, you moron. Everything was under control and then you decided to give him a haircut ! I remember the stories too, Tempest. I'm reckless, not senile. Why the hell else would I just keep backing up ?" After she finally got all this out, her anger ahd drained slightly. She was still furious, but she had exploded and the worst of the storm was over. She watched in silence as her sister handled the youngster, offering a sigh of reluctance before changing back into her cat form and turning without a backwards glance to the trail that would take her home. She was giving Tempest the silent treatment and making damn sure her sister knew it.

((Aww, poor Tempest and Nanna. xD ))

Tempest looked so fierce that the youngling shifted into his cub form, enabling Tempest to snort and lower her head, long enough to pick it up by the scruff of its neck. She tried to hold what was left of her dignity and trot calmly after her sister, looking as if all was well in the world when in reality, she felt sad. Most times when her little sister and her fought, they’d wrestle it out, and they’d be done with it. Tempest suddenly had a feeling this was going to last a while, and since she didn’t really have many people to turn to, she didn’t want to have to have this stretch on. Still, she didn’t offer an apology or anything, considering she’d done what she needed to survive. Sure, she should have just died and saved her sister the embarrassment for having a spineless older sibling who wasn’t afraid to admit the fact she didn’t have a backbone(She did, just not with a lion from hell!), however there would come a day when Tempest would show that rare and fabled spine-- and it’d be coated in titanium steel. That day just hadn’t come yet.

The cub wriggled and squirmed, making the sudden angry Were-leopardess to clench her teeth tightly together. It gave a yowl, though it was more out of discomfort or pain. Tempest ignored it and followed the pathway her sister was taking, her eyes gleaming savage jewels. How dare her sister treat her like this, when she’d done what was needed to survive?! Would she have been happier if she’d been ripped to shreds?! If she could talk, she might’ve muttered something like ‘Little siblings for ya’ ungrateful and whiney’. Of course, having a mouthful of cub would have disabled her to talk even then, which would have been a good thing. Savannah wasn’t being whiney, although in Tempest’s eyes she was being very ungrateful. Last time she risked her neck for the good of her little sisters life.

If the scenario had happened again, Tempest knew she’d still dive in and risk everything she had. Growling softly with teeth clenched around cub fur, Tempest quickened her pace, needing to get to the village, drop the kid off, and leave. She hoped Dresden would be able to deal; with Savannah and her foul mood-- knowing him he’d probably only make the younger sister madder with his care free and laid back attitude. He often made Tempest irked enough to bite a cub in half. Speaking off, the noisy little thing in her mouth was becoming very tempting…
